1.3.4  Over-Speeding

The World Health Organization has indicated that an increase in the vehicle’s average speed is directly related to the likelihood of a crash and its consequences. Around 30% of road deaths in high-income countries result from over-speeding. Therefore, it is essential that the authorities set the speed limit corresponding to the dynamics of each road.

For example, the appropriate speed limit for roads with higher pedestrian concentrations should be 30 Km/h. Traffic lights and speed cameras are also helpful in regulating the vehicles’ speeds.
